Hosted by the incredible Matchbox Cine, Weird Weekend’s monthly screening series, showcasing the best of New Weird Cinema alongside brand-new restorations, takes place on the last Friday of every month, beginning March, 2024.
A Western matinee in a Rome cinema sees an onscreen gunfight coincide with a real death in the audience. Soon, everyone is under suspicion.
A detective story inspired by Ray Bradbury’s novel The Veldt, Giuliano Montaldo’s nail-biting psychotronic thriller also helps unlock the themes of this year’s Weird Weekend festival. We’re champing at the bit to show you what we’ve been working on all year – come along and find out first about the films, events and guests we have in store for October and see the debut of the Weird Weekend IV trailer, featuring our brand-new theme music, courtesy of US Highball.

There are no adverts, but each screening is preceded by a specially-curated pre-show and introduction. Any Q&As and/or special events will be noted in the individual event listings. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale – you decide what to pay, according to your means.
